About Me

I am an award winning, self-taught, impressionistic watercolor artist, devoted and inspired by my Florida surroundings. I hope my passion for painting Florida wildflowers, seascapes and the Everglades can help to promote the beauty of the Florida wilderness by reaching a wider public and encouraging the need to preserve this fragile environment.

I started painting in 2003 with one of those epiphany moments. I have always been fascinated and challenged by watercolor as it never fails to excite with the myriad of ways it can develop. A constant challenge but exceptional delight when it wins and sometimes on its own accord - giving surprising results.  Learning to paint watercolor on canvas has been the most exciting and challenging discovery for me - loving the way this broadens every potential. I exhibit in England and Florida and sell internationally.

I was born in Virginia, USA and lived in England most of my life. In returning to the U.S. I discovered the burgeoning arts destination of St. Petersburg in Florida. In 2017 I moved into one of the newly-built studios in the 1st Phase of the ArtsXchange in St Petersburg. This is a non-profit organization creating sustainable and affordable studios for every kind of artist, a growing complex of galleries and studios, making it a popular arts destination. The City provides a trolley bus every 2nd Saturday of the month, for people to visit the artists studios in the warehouse arts district, from 5pm to 9pm. The ArtWalk provides a celebration of all the arts, with music, dance and food trucks contributing to the festive occasion.  Check out www.warehouseartsdistrictstpete.org and https://stpeteartsalliance.org.
